Thomas Jacobson

I am a retired lawyer. My wife and I have been full time residents of Oregon for eight years. For two years before that we spent part of the year in Oregon. My two daughters, their husbands and children live in Oregon.

Before moving to Oregon I lived in Minnesota and was a partner in a medium-sized law firm. I served on the Planning Commission of the small city where we lived and then was elected Mayor. I was re-elected for two more terms. I served as Mayor for six years. In addition, I convened and served as chair for the local Democratic Party precinct caucuses.

I would like to get more active in the Oregon Democratic Party, and I am very interested in the issues facing the US Congress and their impact on the residents of Portland. I believe my background would enable me to communicate effectively with our congressional representatives.
