Susan Kane

My name is Susan Kane and I’m running for SCC delegate.

You may know me by my East Coast “accent” as I am originally from New York-New Jersey. As a lifelong Democrat, I’m dedicated to fairness for all Americans and those who want to be citizens.

While living in New Jersey, I ran for the NJ General Assembly 10th District and was endorsed by the NJ AFL-CIO. I had over 20,500 votes in a heavily red district. I belonged to the National Organization for Women for eight years; participated in local protests for women’s rights and gun control. For nine years, I was heavily involved with Tent City in Ocean County, bringing food, clothing and more to the homeless living in the woods. Weekly, I picked up and distributed bread from local bakery outlets to Head Start schools for children of low income families making a real difference in their lives.

When I moved to Portland in 2019, I became a PCP for HD 42. Currently, I am an alternate SCC delegate and have joined the Senior Caucus. Wanting to be able to VOTE at these meetings, I am running for SCC delegate.

It’s so important to be part of the Democratic process and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together!
