Why I'm running.
Hi! My name is Leigha LaFleur and I have been actively involved in the Multnomah County Democrats for nearly a decade and have been elected to the CD3 Committee since 2016. In my time in the Party, I have served as a Precinct Committee Person, Assistant District Leader in HD 42 and HD46, and Chair and Vice Chair of the CD3 Committee. I appreciate and value all the opportunities for leadership that are offered within the Democratic Party and I enjoy the work!
During my time on the CD3 Committee as both the Chair and Vice Chair, we worked with Rep. Earl Blumenauer’s staff to make our federal representative aware of the concerns of the people of this district and to encourage him to advocate for programs and legislation we care about including universal health care, reducing institutional racism and improving policing, and things that benefit the environment and the climate. I feel like our relationship with him has been successful and resulted in passing legislation we advocated for.
I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to participate in the CD3 Committee and look forward to continuing the work of the Committee. our relationship with Rep. Blumenauer and sharing the interests and priorities of the people of our community with him. I humbly ask for your vote for the CD3 Committee to continue this work. Thank you!
