Why I'm running.
After much consideration, I have decided to run for State Central Committee Delegate. Although I was a founding Co-Chair of the MultDems Racial Inclusivity Work Group–a position that I have again held since July 2022–most of my volunteer work is with the Portland Association of Teachers (PAT). I am now serving my third term on the PAT Executive Board, I am Co-Chair of the PAT Substitute Teacher Committee, I serve on the PAT Legislative Committee, and I am a Substitute Teacher Delegate to the PAT Representative Assembly, (PAT RA) a PAT Delegate to the Oregon Education Association (OEA RA), and and Oregon Delegate to the National Education Association (NEA RA). I am also a member of the PAT Racial Equity Committee and PAT Steering Committee.
I have served on the PAT PAC, recruiting, interviewing, endorsing, and campaigning for Democrats and non-partisan races like Portland Public Schools Board of Education. I have been a PCP in three precincts since joining the Democratic Party, and was part of the Neighborhood Leader Program until I moved to Clackamas County. I returned to Multnomah County after an eight-month stint down south.
I am an education policy expert, I am the PAT Representative for Health Care for All Oregon (HCAO), and I am a Peace Activist whose goal is Creating a World that Works for ALL Beings, Human & Other. I would be honored to have your vote, and I pledge to be an active and engaged SCC Delegate.
