My fellow Democrats,

I, DeAngelo Moaning, am honored to hereby declare my candidacy for the role of SCC Delegate for the Democratic Party of Oregon.

I have served as the Economic Development Chair & Vice President of the Portland NAACP, connecting with people across the state to provide and support economic opportunities to underserved communities. I have also served as an Alternate Delegate to the Democratic National Convention and the Mail Program Coordinator during the 2024 election.

I now serve as a Civil Rights Compliance and Workforce Outreach Manager, continuing this work and providing an equity lens to the continued development of our state. As an active Democrat, I treasure the experiences in these spaces in preparation for my next step in service to the Party. We will need strong social, political and economic leadership to hold steadfast to our core values during this presidential threat to our democracy.

In closing, I would like to echo President Kennedy’s words at Rice University, that we must “serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone and one which we intend to win!” And we do intend to win!
