Race Informed Social Justice: The Intersection of Race, Sex, Gender and Power
Date: 10/26 6:30-8:30 pm
Location: MCDHQ (3551 Sandy Blvd.)
Dear Friends and Supporters:
Please join the Multnomah County Democrats in an informative event and discussion about power and how it intersects with other identities. Not since the 1991 confirmation hearings of Clarence Thomas has this dynamic been so publicly examined and yet so poorly understood.
It has been 27 years since that hearing. Now we will ask what has changed and what has stayed the same. Text and testimony from the trial that started the public conversation in the fall of 1991 will be read, shared and discussed.
Women at the intersection of race, sex, gender and power will share their truths in an effort to explore how we can we come to terms with some troubling truths.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and this free event is open to the public, all are welcome.
Date 10/26 from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Please RSVP Rachelle Dixon at: ViceChair1@Multdems.org
The meeting will be held at the Multnomah County Democrats office at 3551 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, Oregon 97232. Disabled parking is available in the rear of the building.
Light refreshments will be provided.
