Join Multnomah Democrats at Pride!

Portland Pride is June 16-17!

The Multnomah County Democrats, through their platform, resolutions, and community organizing, have long strived to be allies to the LGBTQ community. Catch us at Pride on the weekend of June 16th and 17th! We’ll be in the parade as well as at our booth, and can help you register to vote, find out more information about civic engagement, or sign you up as a volunteer!

Congratulations, Elected PCPs

Congratulations to all the persons who were elected to the office of Precinct Committee Person. The process of organizing the new PCPs will begin in mid-June, after we receive official results from the Multnomah County Elections Division (MCED). In the meanwhile, we have unofficial results here (PDF). If you have won your election, then expect that we will contact you soon. In the meanwhile, you can contact us at info@multdems.org; or, if you know your House District, your District Leader at (district number)leader@multdems.org (for example, if your House District is HD38, then you would email your District Leader at 38leader@multdems.org). You can also become acquainted with the Party through our platform and our bylaws.

PCP Training is coming soon! Join our First Vice Chair, Rachelle Dixon, for PCP training on Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Hollywood Library Meeting Room, 4040 NE Tillamook Street Portland, OR 97212. You may want to sign up on Facebook for this training.

Please note that you will not be credentialed for the Central Committee meetings until the August 9th, 2018 meeting.

May Resistance Writers

Resistance Writers is the MCD blog where you have a chance to share thoughts, perspectives and viewpoints. In this month’s edition: teacher, PCP and Neighborhood Leader Greg Burrill writes about The Ugly Horror for All Americans Lurking Behind Abstract Language: Institutional Racism. District Leader 47 Sam Kahl explores the history of finance in The Money Game. PCP Carissa Martos explores Employment Reform: For Adult, Able-bodied Males. Finally, and PCP Stephenie Frederick analyzes Income Inequality. If you would like to submit an article for consideration email communications@multdems.org.

Opinions expressed in Resistance Writers do not necessarily reflect those of the Multnomah County Democrats.
