MultDems to Hold Special Election for Communications Officer on March 10, 2022

Britton Taylor, Candidate for MultDems Communications Officer

The Multnomah Democrats are pleased to announce there will be an election for the Communications Officer position, which has been open since January 6, 2022. The election will occur during the upcoming Central Committee meeting on March 10th.

Below is a statement from the candidate, Britton Taylor (current MultDems Campaign Committee Co-Chair):

I am a lifelong liberal, but the 2016 election spurred me to get more involved in my community.

I became a PCP for the Multnomah Dems in 2020 and have been a part of the hardworking Comms Team ever since. Recently I also became Co-Chair of the Campaign Committee and have spearheaded our recent “Meet and Greet” sessions with state and local candidates.

I believe I am qualified for the open Communications Officer role because I’m a PCP who has spent the past two decades working as a strategist in the advertising industry. For 15 years I worked at Portland advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy, where I led strategy for global brands like Old Spice and Kentucky Fried Chicken. While at W+K, I was also a part of the team responsible for implementing Courageous Conversation, an award-winning protocol for effectively engaging, sustaining and deepening interracial dialogue. In my spare time I have also been an activist with Sleeping Giants, an organization dedicated to ridding the internet of misogyny and hate.

Today, I run my own strategic branding and advertising consultancy.

If elected, I will work hard to:

  1. Improve internal and external communications for the Mult Dems
  2. Surface more tangible ways for our members to engage with and improve our communities
  3. Bring more fresh faces, new ideas and perspectives into our party

Thank you!
