MultDems Climate Action Committee: Portland and Oregon Fail a Seismic Stress Test

The Oregon Seismic Resilience Planning is in disarray, while the geologic threat is inescapable.  Our current 50-year plan ignores near term event trend data.  

Catastrophic costs to Portland, to Oregon, and to Federal Resources must be managed by immediate short term investment in actions and interventions, concurrent with our 2022 SB 1567 studies.  The Multnomah County Democrats Platform Committee met on March 29th, 2023 to identify City and State fiscal risks from the enclosed Seismic Stress Test, and voted the enclosed letter out of committee to Oregon Fiscal Officers.
