Make MultDems More Inclusive: Sign Up for ‘Be Heard’ Listening Tour
How do we connect with voters who aren’t like ourselves? Sign up to canvass on the Community Action & Engagement (CA&E) Listening Tour.

From August through late October, the MultDems Community Action & Engagement team will host numerous canvassing events, and we need lots of canvassers. Our objective is to build goodwill with and be informed by the many segments of Multnomah County’s 288,000 registered Democrats who are underrepresented among our 550 Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs).
Our Priority Outreach Team is now developing and tuning our “Be Heard” door-to-door canvassing program to engage underrepresented demographic groups to share their priorities. That includes asking the most concerning issues they want their electeds and our Party to answer. We want those who feel they have been unheard to “Be Heard”.
Our part of the conversation is to take meaningful notes, followed by communicating the trends we identify to Dem candidates and electeds and to our Party committees and workgroups. Canvassers are also asked to perceive potential PCP candidates for appointment.
We know that people will be more motivated to vote when they feel heard. We also want to be intentional that the full diversity (e.g., age, race, ethnicity) of registered Multnomah County Democrats has a seat at the MultDems table.
More details to come. This program will not end with the 2022 election. We will analyze this initial experience to improve ongoing implementation.
We need many of you to please, fill out this CA&E_interest/sign-up form and check the Campaign Outreach box. And heartfelt thanks to all of you who have signed up already!
