December Central Committee Meeting – Thursday, December 14th at Hollywood Senior Center

We cordially invite you to the December meeting of the Central Committee of the Multnomah County Democratic Party. The meeting will take place:

Our schedule is as follows:

6:00 PM Doors open.
6:30 PM Program (TBA) begins.
7:30 PM Business Meeting begins.
7:35 PM Credentialing ends.
8:30 PM Scheduled end of Business Meeting.

We will vote to endorse, not endorse, or take no position on Ballot Measure 101 , which will be on the special election ballot January 23, 2018. A two-thirds vote of Central Committee members in attendance is required to endorse. The Platform, Resolution and Legislative Committee (PRLC) recommends endorsement of Measure 101. The evening’s program will include a discussion of Houselessness, presented by Stuart Emmons. Stuart has worked on homeless issues since 1990, from housing, to shelters, to innovative solutions that focus on effectively addressing the challenge. Among his accomplishments, he designed the national award winning Simone Hotel for homeless, along with numerous other shelters and homeless housing projects.

We will vote on the appointment of precinct committee persons (PCPs). A list of eligible appointees may be found here.

We will elect five (5) alternate delegates to the State Central Committee, four (4) female and one (1) male. Interested candidates should attend the Central Committee meeting on Dec 14, and may self-nominate. Candidates must be a registered Democrat.

The Chair is accepting applications for the DPO Platform work groups. Meetings begin December 10th. Please email chair@multdems.org with your name, email, phone number, and subcommitee(s) of interest.

We are accepting nominations for the Dick Celsi Award, the Governor Barbara Roberts Young Democrat Award, and the Bill and Gladys McCoy award. If you have a nominee for any of these awards, please use this nomination form. You may use this form multiple times to nominate more than one person. Nominations are due midnight the evening of January 15, 2018.


The Multnomah County Democrats are conducting a SOCK DRIVE!
Please help reach our goal of 600 hundred socks for the homeless community by bringing any style of new, men’s or women’s socks, t-shirts or underwear. We will accept your sock donations at the Central Committee meeting.
