Communications Officer Opening

As you may know, Bill Bradley has resigned as Communications Officer. We thank him for his service and wish him the best of luck in his endeavors. The new Communications Officer will be elected at the November Central Committee Business Meeting, which starts at 7:30 PM on Thursday November 9th at the Hollywood Senior Center, 1820 NE 40th Ave, Portland, OR 97212.

As Communications Officer, your job will be to coordinate the Party’s internal and external communications, to further the message, goals and actions of the Democratic Party of Multnomah County. This includes, but is not limited to, crafting messages for the website, blast mails, social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc), and text messages, as well as developing a press kit and coordinating press releases with the Party Chair. You may recruit and coordinate teams to help you accomplish these tasks.

You will be expected to attend meetings of the Admin Team, the Executive Committee (first Thursday of each month), and Central Committee (second Thursday of each month).

To be eligible for the position, you must have been a registered Democrat in Multnomah County for at least 180 days.

Please also note these important dates:

November 3rd – Declarations of Candidacy and biographies of all candidates will be communicated via email to all PCPs, and posted on the website.

November 9th – The Election will occur at the Central Committee Meeting held at the Hollywood Senior Center.  The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and the business meeting, where the election will be held, will begin at 7:30 p.m.

November 11th – The successful candidate’s first Admin meeting. Noon to 2.
