Attention PCPs: Bylaw amendments recommended by the Rules Committee and endorsed by the Executive Committee are before the Central Committee. Article IX amendments were approved in January, and Article VI and VIII will be considered at the February meeting.

We will start the meeting, again, with a moment of silence in commemoration of the lives taken and the lives affected by gun violence. We will then take ten to fifteen minutes for members to speak briefly on reactions to items in the news.
Featured Presentation: Renew Oregon
A representative from Renew Oregon will present on clean energy and “the coalition of businesses, non-profits, faith and community organizations, and individual Oregonians working to make Oregon a leader in the fight against climate change to promote a cleaner, more prosperous state.”

A Multnomah County Party Platform Convention is planned for January 16th. Faith Ruffing, chair of the Platform, Resolutions and Legislation Committee will explain the process and the planning for it.

The Multnomah County Democratic Party & Basic Rights Oregon celebrate Bill Dickey, “2015 Hero of the Year.”
The MultDems and Basic Rights Oregon have joined forces to honor a man who truly personifies all that is good. Please join us and show your appreciation and support for Bill Dickey with a sponsorship, and then party with us at the Award Ceremony and Golf Tournament in his honor.
The event includes a Helicopter Golf Ball Drop Raffle! Golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter. The person with the closest ball to the hole will win $1,000. You do not need to be present to win.
A VIP Party will take place on Thursday night, Sept. 10th at 6:30, at the Riverside Country Club. Special Guest: Former Governor Barbara Roberts.
The Golf Tournament will tee off on Friday morning, Sept. 11th followed by the Banquet and Awards, at Riverside Country Club, NE 33rd, Portland.
Bill Dickey has been a major benefactor to this community and this state. From the arts to social services, education to politics, all have been on the receiving end of his generosity, his involvement and his profound interest in making Portland and Oregon a better and fairer place for all. All without fanfare.

The Multnomah Democrats joined the DPO LGBT Caucus and many friends and supporters in the Portland Pride Parade on June 14. A great time was had by all, and a big thank you goes out to all who participated. You can see us all in the video:
