House District 49
Why I'm running.
It has been an honor to serve East County in the 2021/2022 legislative sessions, and I would like to continue. I have learned a lot this session; I’ve taken on an active role on the House Dem leadership team, and I have worked closely on legislation in my committees. Furthermore, I have worked to secure funding for East County initiatives in housing, houseless services, and reducing gang involvement. House Dems have a lot of work to do in 2023, and we’re already preparing. I expect to see some major efforts to improve campaign finance rules, access to healthcare, and justice system reform.
My top 3 priorities.
1) Help Democrats continue their work to help Oregonians, particularly in the areas of housing, the environment, justice and good government. 2) Pass bills in key areas, including animal welfare, LGBTQ+ rights and education. 3) Advocate for East County funding needs, particularly increasing community services and ending houselessness.
Why voters should choose me.
I have taught in East County schools for 16 years. I have the experience gained from serving on local committees and the Troutdale City Council, and now the state legislature. I am committed to protecting our environment and natural areas, to fighting for justice and to helping those in need. In the previous legislative session, I have shown that I can work with others to craft good bills and advocate for my constituents, and I would be honored to continue that work.
