Stefanie Craft

School Board, Position 7

Gresham-Barlow School District

Why I'm running.

I have considered running for the Gresham-Barlow School Board for many years now, but I am finally in a position personally to have the time and energy to really put my best efforts towards supporting our students and schools. My children have all had the privilege of succeeding in the Gresham-Barlow School District and I want to ensure that all students are able to thrive and succeed in our community. I have a proven track record of advocating, fundraising and managing programs to benefit our educators, students and community and want to take that commitment and experience to serve families district wide.

My top 3 priorities.

The first pressing issue I see is inclusiveness for our diverse community. ALL STUDENTS should feel represented and safe in our schools, and have access to sports, arts and all extracurriculars and activities, no matter their background. This feeds directly into safety and the need to continue the work to keep all of our students feeling safe and ready to learn while in our district’s buildings. We need to continue the positive work already being done in improving students’ mental health while addressing students’ needs academically and socially post-Covid.

Why voters should choose me.

I will always fight for a better future for all of our students. My commitment to you is to work tirelessly to provide the resources and support necessary for our schools to thrive. As a pro-active volunteer, when I see a need, I work hard to fill it. As a parent I have testified before the school board and fought for our students and staff, and I have fought for needed building improvements for the safety of our students. I have the experience, qualifications and credentials, to be the most effective candidate for this seat.
