Why I'm running.
Like many, I’m fed-up and am channeling the frustration of so many who feel they have not been heard by local leaders. Problems continue to worsen, despite us being in a homeless emergency for over 6 years now. It’s time for new vision in the County, and as Chair I’d prioritize rapid action to assuage the growing concerns around the exploding homeless, drug addiction, mental health, safety, and garbage crises. I’m not soiled by the dust of political experience, and have the credentials and energy to propel us forward, with the mantra “don’t let perfection be the enemy of good.”
My top 3 priorities.
Ending dangerous, unsanctioned, biohazardous street camping by ramping up humane, sanitary alternatives, including sanctioned camp areas with services, and enforcing camp bans if needed; expanding dual-diagnosis mental health centers to provide free or cheap, accessible care; getting dangerous people with substance abuse disorders off the streets and into treatment.
Why voters should choose me.
I will actually listen to and do the will of the taxpayers, who are desperate for real leadership and action. That means I’d pool together the right folks at the drawing board, move forward boldly with emergency solutions, and not bow to vocal minorities, instead centering policy in what the majority want. I have solutions that can scale quickly, and the energy to move the dial rapidly. If people want real change, they should vote for me and not the three commissioners running against me who have been in power for years under whose leadership our crises have only worsened.
