Why I'm running.
I am an independent progressive who sees the dysfunction of establishment politicians in dealing with issues that plague Oregon. I feel voters deserve a voice, and I want to fix our shared problems, not exploit the divide or cater to special interests. I want to set an example by showing that a truly grassroots campaign can be viable, and our leaders need not become beholden to wealthy individuals and corporate or PAC donors. I am here to represent the voice of the people, not become a career politician.
My top 3 priorities.
Campaign Finance Reform – It’s impossible to make bold changes to systemic problems without reducing the influence of special interests in politics.
Single Payer Healthcare – Removing profit margins can provide universal coverage while saving citizens, schools, and business millions.
Housing and Homelessness – Housing is unaffordable, and we are failing the homeless.
Why voters should choose me.
I‘m a problem solver and unifier. I have worked elbow to elbow with diverse stakeholders in rural areas and have the insight and understanding to work with Oregonians from all walks of life. Through my years on the Soil & Water Conservation Districts and a decade long appointment to the Umpqua watershed council, I know how to find common ground and get things done. My time serving on school boards has given me valuable experience in understanding the largest part of our state budget: education. I’m the only Democrat to be endorsed by the Progressive Party of Oregon.
