House District 33

Why I'm running.

I ran for office to have a bigger impact for our community as a policy maker than I can have as a physician and because as a mother I cannot stand by and wait for others to protect my children’s climate future. I am running for re-election because I have seen very clearly that my instincts were correct – I can and do have a bigger impact as a policy maker to help my community and there is enormous work to be done. My policy work is centered around making sure every Oregonian has the ability to live a healthy life, in a healthy community on a healthy planet.

I know from first-hand experience how our broad community, with government support, has the capacity to help people succeed. I understand the importance of a safe home, medical insurance, strong schools and union jobs. I am running because I’m courageous, resilient and determined to ensure good health for everyone. Health is a strong public school system. Health is affordable housing.

My top 3 priorities.

My top three priorities are:
1. Healthcare reform:I intend to stay in office (so long as my voters will have me) until Oregon or the United States as a whole has universal access to affordable, high-quality care including full abortion and family-planning options.
2. A Just Transition: We must transition completely off of fossil fuels and push for equitable climate policy that supports communities most impacted by climate change.
3. Social inequity reforms: every policy I sponsor will have ..

Why voters should choose me.

Health is universal, affordable, high-quality healthcare. We all have a right to health.
