Oregon House

House District 46

Why I'm running.

As a longtime community organizer in the heart of HD 46, I am running to fight for affordable housing, transportation justice, and bold climate action that creates jobs and economic opportunities for low-income and BIPOC communities who have been excluded from the benefits of renewable energy and the green economy. As the first Asian American legislator to represent this diverse district, which includes neighborhoods with some of the highest populations of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the state, I’m committed to increasing participation and representation for communities who have not traditionally had a voice in the legislative process.

My top 3 priorities.

1. Bold Climate Action and Environmental Justice (fossil fuel divestment and transportation justice)
2. Healthy and Inclusive Democracy (campaign finance reform and legislator pay to ensure everyone has the opportunity to serve)
3. An Economy that centers well-being over profit (revenue reforms to invest in housing)

Why voters should choose me.

In my first term, I secured huge wins, including:
— Groundbreaking $185 million investment to make 82nd Ave a safer, more walkable street;
— 100% clean electricity standard by 2040, and discounted utility bills for low-income households;
— Creation of the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Advancement, $18 million to support Afghan families resettling to Oregon
— Renters’ Rights to Cooling and $46 million for heat pumps and cooling shelters to protect Oregonians from extreme heat.

If re-elected, I will continue to fight for economic justice, affordable housing, bold climate action that creates good-paying jobs, and a healthy and welcoming democracy in Oregon.
