Why I'm running.

I am running because I care about people. Climate change is an emergency and too many Oregonians are on the front lines without affordable housing, mental health support and care, or thriving wage jobs. To protect ourselves from devastating heat waves and wildfires, we must act quickly to move off fossil fuels including natural gas. We have the opportunity to build a new sustainable transportation and housing infrastructure that is climate smart and environmentally friendly while increasing jobs. Our investments must address the historical inequities suffered by low-income and BIPOC communities and increase opportunities for all Oregonians.

My top 3 priorities.

Climate Change and Justice:
Equitable low-carbon housing and transportation
Increasing carbon storage in forests and agriculture
Thriving wage sustainable energy jobs

Housing:
Increase affordable, climate smart housing
Rent support to prevent houselessness

Health Care:
Mental health care and addiction treatment
Advance public coverage options
Protect reproductive care access

Why voters should choose me.

Voters should choose me because I have the experience we need in Salem to get things done. I have been fighting for legislation for the last three years, while directing advocacy work across the state. As a physician, I understand the need for teamwork and accountability to improve health and mental care services. I will strive for input and collaboration across varied interests to pass comprehensive bills that will improve the lives of Oregonians. As the director of the non-profit Physicians for Social Responsibility, I have learned how to evaluate budgets, prioritize limited resources, and apply strategy.
