We are calling all Democrats to urge all of our Oregon US Congress members to co-sponsor H.R. 3565, also known as the Block the Bombs Act. This critical legislation calls on President Trump to stop supplying some of the most deadly offensive weapons to Israel and enforces existing US law prohibiting the use of American-made weapons to target civilians.

The Multnomah County Democrats’ Foreign Policy Study Group has endorsed this letter as a specific example of implementing our platform commitment. Now we need individual Democrats across the county to add their voices.

Why This Matters

Our Platform Commitment —  MultDems’ 2025-2026 Platform explicitly states: “We call on the US government to enforce existing laws that prohibit the use of US-manufactured weapons to intentionally or indiscriminately target civilians in any country.”

Central Committee Action —  In February 2025, the MultDems Central Committee passed Resolution 2024 05, which called for “enforcement of ban on use of US weapons that violate human rights.” This resolution urged Oregon’s US Congressional representatives to support legislation preventing transfers of US weapons to Israel while they continue targeting civilian populations.

Moral Leadership — This legislation ensures America’s military aid aligns with our values and international law.

Bipartisan Support Needed — All of Oregon’s Congressional representatives can lead on this crucial human rights issue.
