Get Active

From door to door and neighbor to neighbor we build relationships with the people who live, work, and play in our communities. Through active engagement and relationship building we build a stronger, healthier community.

Below are some of the resources available to though active members of the Multnomah County Democrats:

This vibrant annual event brings together our community to celebrate our rich and diverse cultures and backgrounds. Free food, entertainment, professional eye exams and much, much more.

Our youth caucus educates, engages, and activates our most important resource, our young people. Programs include civics education and out reach to high school students and young adults.

The Women's Issues Work Group is working on Legislative Action Items (LAIs) to be included in the Multnomah County Democratic Party Platform, which is scheduled for November, 2017.  We have developed the following outline of areas to address.  All passionate feminists of all genders are welcome to participate as we develop model legislation to promote true equality for all girls and women.

This project uses social media and email to reach out to our individual circle of friends and acquaintances. Can't go to protests and marches? You can be an still be an activist from your computer at home.

This project is just like it sounds! It helps us reach out to people in our neighborhoods and communities to get them involved in the political process.

Our brothers and sisters from immigrant families are vulnerable. Rose City Shield helps to connect people to resources including education, food, and “Know Your Rights” assistance from the ACLU.

This ongoing project to connect with families who find themselves house-less has been going on for years on Portland's East side. We serve wholesome, made from scratch meals and are in need of cooks, servers, and donations on a regular basis. Currently the dinner is on the last Sunday of each month; we would love to be able to expand to more days.

This group seeks to educate and inform people about the science behind climate change and how it effects our lives and our economy. Our goal is to effect change in our policies and laws to stop the damage of global warming.

This annual event is enjoyed by thousands of Oregonians every year. Help us let Multnomah County know the Democratic party is an active and vibrant part of our community.
